Qigong

If you’re new to Qigong (pronounced chee gong), welcome.   We describe qigong as a gentle, healing, moving meditation; others describe it as a “get the energy/qi really cranking up” practice!  Qigong originated in China many years ago, and people have been practicing Qigong for centuries.  Qigong can be done sitting, standing, or lying down, and “you do what you do” as you care for yourself.  Join us.

Qigong Class Info (In Person, Stevens Point, WI and Via Zoom)

Via Zoom:
When:
Monday – Friday (w/Sarah) 9 -9:30 am CST via Zoom.  Feel free to arrive ten minutes early to dolphin the neck and enjoy a little bit of laughter and conversation.

Thursdays (w/Judi) 11 am – 11:30 am and Saturdays 8:44 – 9:14 CT.  Watch the calendar for occasional time changes. Feel free to arrive five minutes early to “say hello” or stay five minutes at the end to connect with your “qi team.”   Zoom log in information is located on the Free Explorations page.  It’s ok to leave your video on so we can see you, but it’s also ok if you want to turn off the video/audio so we can’t see or hear you, and you can just listen.  Connecting via phone is also an option.

In Person Qigong, with a little “splash” of laughter:  Thursdays (w/Judi) 12:30 – 1:05 pm, 600 Wilshire, Stevens Point, WI.  Check calendar for occasional changes in schedule.

What you may want to have available:

  • Wear clothes you can move in; no need to change into exercise clothing.
  • Water to keep your body hydrated.
  • Have a chair nearby.
  • Just a note:  if the weather cooperates, consider practicing outside.  Some of our favorite places to practice qigong are among the trees or along the water.  You may see us enjoying the energy of the trees, hugging them, or just connecting with the quietness of the forest or “qigonging” near the lakes, rivers, oceans, or streams.

Other thoughts

We won’t be playing background music in our Zoom qigong gatherings; if you wish, feel free to play your own relaxing music in the background.
