April’s Journey: Exploring Vitality and Healing Through Mind Body Healing. A blog by Sarah

Hey there!

Welcome to our weekly wellness email series inspired by Penny Makris’ intuitive calendar.  In line with our April theme of vitality and healing, let’s delve into the wonders of neuroplasticity. The brain’s ability to rewire itself can play a crucial role in your healing journey, adapting not just to challenges but transforming them into opportunities for growth.

To continue our focus on vitality and healing let’s build off of last week’s journey of the Body Mind connection.   Last week’s challenge invited you to notice and change your thoughts.   By doing this you are rewiring your brain to focus on ways of thinking that support you in a joyous healthy way, giving you vitality and healing.   So you have already delved into the wonder of neuroplasticity.   Isn’t that exciting!   Learning to use your brain to the fullest.

This month, incorporate new cognitive challenges into your routine—like learning a new language or skill. These activities aren’t just stimulating; they promote your brain’s health and resilience.

OR take the smile challenge!  Take a moment and smile, do you feel the vitality and healing in the smile?  Feel if flow into your heart, filling you up.   Do you feel lighter?   If you are running errands smile and simply observe how you feel.

Last week, we introduced you to Judi Olson, one of our cherished Qigong leaders, and her innovative concept of “opportunity reminders.” Judi’s approach has inspired many to infuse small, positive habits into their daily lives. This week, why not set a few “opportunity reminders” for yourself? You could schedule prompts to take a moment to smile, refocus your thoughts, or dive into a new cognitive challenge or routine. These small actions can lead to significant shifts in your daily well-being and mindfulness. Interested in learning more about Judi’s methods or joining one of her Qigong sessions? Let’s make this week one of intentional growth and positive change!

Thank you Penny for your powerful intuitive guidance in your calendar!

What book am I reading this week? Dr. Joe Dispenza’s, Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself. This is the follow up to the book I was reading last week, Dr. Joe Dispenza’s, Evolve Your Brain

Following the enlightening journey we began with Dr. Joe Dispenza’s, “Evolve Your Brain,” I’m excited to recommend “Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself” as a next step. This book offers an in-depth exploration of the fascinating science behind the mind, neuroplasticity, and how these insights can enhance both our health and our lives.

If you found the concepts in our previous discussions intriguing, this book will help you delve deeper and provide practical tools to transform your understanding into actionable change.

Happy reading, and I look forward to hearing your thoughts!

Today’s practice ended on a high note! After practice, we lingered to dive into an energizing discussion about Quantum Physics, Joe Dispenza’s insights on the mind-body connection, and a fascinating post from Bob in our Qi-circle. The excitement was palpable, and it sparked a brilliant idea — why not start a book club? I’m all in! What about you? Would you be interested? Looking forward to your thoughts,

One of my favorite ways to embrace vitality and healing is spending time in my garden. It’s a sanctuary where the simple serenity of nature rejuvenates the spirit. I find myself enchanted by the vibrant colors, the gentle hum of bees, the cheerful songs of birds, and the delicate dance of butterflies among the flowers.

While I wish I could walk with you through this space in person, I’m excited to share this slice of tranquility with you through photos. I hope that through these images, my garden brings a sense of vitality and healing into your day.  Enjoy this visual escape to nature!
What are we growing in the garden right now?   California Poppies, Anemones, Ranunculus, Borage. Mexican Fleabane Daisies, Manzano Chili Peppers, Rosemary, Collard Greens, Dahlias, New Potatoes, Gladiolus, Nasturtium to name a few.
Coming soon to our garden:  Corn, Melons, Squash, Pumpkins, Lettuces, Swiss Chard to name a few, stay tuned!    What are you growing?
